Special Session on the User Experience of 3G devices, services and applications – and beyond
Scope
We would like to invite you to attend a presentation, review and discussion of an the final draft ETSI Guide (EG 202 972) providing generic design, development and deployment guidelines applicable to the user interfaces of 3G-enabled devices, services and applications, addressed from the end users’ perspective. The work aims at further improving the overall user experience of 3G/UMTS products by addressing the user interfaces of its elements: terminal devices, communication services and data applications and providing a set of 3G user experience-specific guidelines that will be applicable to all mobile networks, devices, services and applications.
Topics
The main topics of interest include:
- Seamless connectivity to networks and between devices;
- Application installation and software handling;
- Quality and continuity of services;
- Media and application aspects;
- Provisioning and presentation of data-intensive services and applications;
- Stand-alone and distributed UI design guidelines;
- Accessibility issues and enabled applications

Final Manuscript Submission Deadline: 8 August 2008
Submission Instructions
Papers must be original material, not currently be under review, and not have been previously published by any conference or journal. All papers must be written in English. Authors are invited to submit their full length papers in pdf format complying to the ACM Digital Library. All submitted papers are peer reviewed by the members of the special session technical committee. The conference papers will be indexed in ACM Digital Library. Accepted work must be presented by one of the authors. Papers not presented will not be indexed. Please refer to the conference website for technical paper preparation guidelines and submission procedure.
